Happy New Year from the Islands

In the islands, Christmas festivities revolve around church, food and dancing.  The ladies from the church made us beautiful outfits to wear for Christmas Day and we were so happy to show off their handy work.

Later that night the dancing started.  Hopefully in the next post I will be able to download a video of it…kind of like square dancing…island style.  But for now, the island is running out of fuel (though a shipment is on the way!) and so our electric is rationed.

The break has been wonderful!  I’ve read books such as Bonhoeffer and House United, watched movies (The Ultimate Gift and The Blind Side), worked online and prepared for the beginning of the last-half of school.  We start back like most everyone on Jan. 3rd.

All my best for a Successful New Year!  May God’s blessing be upon you and your family.
